Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop once again Thursday afternoon as a stationary boundary lies across southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. The severe threat is low for Thursday but just like with previous storms, wind and torrential downpours will be the biggest concerns.
Thunderstorms should be more scattered during the afternoon through roughly 7pm or 8pm before becoming isolated through the rest of the night. Parades Thursday morning shouldn’t have any weather issues, other than being muggy, but for the Rockford parade that is scheduled to begin around 7pm may have some showers/storms around the start. Storm activity should become more isolated after 8pm or 9pm Thursday evening. If you are heading out for the fireworks display make sure you keep a watchful eye on the radar and have a place a to seek shelter should storms threaten.
